Kendal Town FC History<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The club experienced a period of success in the 1930s, winning the Lancashire Combination League title in 1931 and 1932. They also won the Cumberland Senior Cup in 1933 and reached the final again in 1934, but lost to Carlisle United once more. Kendal Town joined the Yorkshire League in 1935 and won the league title in 1936. However, they rejoined the Lancashire Combination League after only one season. The club won the Lancashire Combination League title for a fourth time in 1938<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After World War II, Kendal Town FC joined the Midland League. In 1947, they reached the first round of the FA Cup for the first time in their history but lost to Bradford Park Avenue. The following year, they won their fifth Lancashire Combination League title. In 1949, they joined the Cheshire County League but returned to Lancashire Combination League after only one season. The club won their sixth Lancashire Combination League title in 1950. In 1964, Kendal Town joined Division Two of the Northern Premier League but were relegated to Division One at the end of their first season<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kendal Town were relegated to Division Two of the Northern Premier League again in 1974 but regained their place in Division One after only one season back down. They went on to win Division One title in 1980 and were promoted back up to Division Two. The club experienced financial difficulties during this period and were forced to sell their Shap Road ground to pay off debts. As a result, they moved into nearby Netherfield’s Raydale Stadium and became known as Netherfield AFC until 1996 when they reverted back to their original name of Kendal Town FC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2005, Kendal Town won promotion to Division One North of Conference North after finishing as runners-up behind Harrogate Town but were relegated back down at the end of their first season back up. In 2010, they were relegated down to Northern Premier League Division One South after finishing bottom of Conference North but bounced back up at first attempt by winning Northern Premier League Division One South East division title under manager Steve Edmondson . After four seasons back up in Conference North ,the club was relegated again down to Northern Premier League Premier Division at end of 2013-14 campaign . However Steve Edmondson led side straight back up as champions . The following year saw them win Cumbria Senior Cup for record 17th time when beating Carlisle United 1\u20130 at Brunton Park . At end of 2018\u201319 campaign manager Simon Davey left club by mutual consent with Alex Hay taking over as caretaker manager before being appointed manager on permanent basis ahead 2019\u201320 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
